Too Much Collaboration Or Not The Right Level Of Collaboration?

A recent Harvard Business review article stated 20% to 35% of value-added collaborations come from 3% to 5% of employees.  The article also stated “collaboration is indeed the answer to many of today’s most pressing business challenges.  But more isn’t always better.  I prescribe to focused collaboration versus general collaboration so that value-driven outcome can be achieved.  Read the Harvard Business Review article.

I get overloaded when engaged in too much general collaboration that often lead to limited or no value-driven outcomes.  I guess can label it as socialization, which is not a bad thing but then we should call it what it is.  Have you given any thought about your collaboration experiences?  Defined the desired outcomes that you want from collaboration.  If so I would like to hear from.
